Then the annual hand scything (grass cutting) of protected water-lodged meadows at the end of July (20.7 - 31.7. 2009) at the Czech-Moravian Highlands might just be the thing you are looking for...
If you join, you will get the chance to take in annual conservation works aimed to protect unique water-lodged meadows situated in the heart of Czech Republic, in the region called Highlands (Vysočina). But that is not the only interesting thing you can experience there. You will also get the chance to spend some time with new people, visit new places and have fun all day long.

Tschechischer Bund für Naturschutz (ČSOP)
ČSOP ist eine Bürgervereinigung deren Mitglieder das Interesse verbindet, für die Umwelt und den Naturschutz aktiv zu werden. Unsere Aufgaben beschränken sich jedoch nicht nur auf Naturschutz und Renaturierungsmaßnahmen. Weitere Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind die Durchführung von Umweltaufklärung und Förderung eines nachhaltigen Lebens. Wir pflegen wertvolle Biotope, führen Naturuntersuchungen und Kartierungen durch und streben die Erhaltung der Artenvielfalt an. ČSOP widmet sich den Kindern und der Jugend und bildet die Öffentlichkeit aus. Wir kümmern uns um verletzte Wildtiere, wir probieren Verwaltungsverfahren zu beeinflussen und setzen uns auch für den Schutz von Kulturdenkmälern ein.

ČSOP is a civic association of people who share an active interest in nature conservation and the environment. Our mission is to protect and restore nature, the landscape and the environment, to promote environmental education and support sustainable living.The range of our activities is very broad. Among others, we manage valuable natural sites, carry out biological field research and surveys, we strive to preserve the richness of plant and animal life in the Czech Republic, we work with children and youth as well as with the general public, we provide care for injured or otherwise handicapped wildlife, participate in administrative decision-making processes, and cooperate in the preservation of cultural heritage.
